valeriejulietI'll be getting back to menus

We have vistitors and so I do meals a little differently. I am finding that when I stick to my menus, we often have a lot of leftover food. Then if I skip a week, we can get back to “zero” and I can start all over again. 6 years ago

valeriejulietWeek 2

Wow I did it! I made everything I said I was going to make except for the plum pie. We were just eating the plums all the time, so no pie. It’s healthier that way anyway. There was so much food last week that it spilled over into this week. I’m not complaining though. Today’s dinner is supposed to be what we had for supper last Friday.

Tuesday:
Br) Pancakes and fruit

Lu) Tortellini and Tomto Sauce (p. 62 SDL)

Su) Sweet and Spicy Beans (p. 123 SCD)

Wednesday:
Br) Oatmeal porridge and fruit

Lu) Mexi-chili (p. 99 SDL)

Su) Polynesian Flank Steak and Frosted Banana Bars

Thursday:
Br) Cereal and fruit

Lu) Ham and cheese sandwiches

Su) Au gratin supper (p. 120 Rush Hour Recipes)

Friday:
Br) Cinnabon clones

Lu) Soup from the cupboard and toast

Su) Sausage and Sourkraut6 years ago

Lu) Spiral Ham Salad (p. 24 SDL) and cherry tomatoes

Wednesday:

Lu) Tuna Quesadilla (p. 55 SDL) and red peppers

Su) Lemon chicken scallopini

Thursday:
Br) Toast with jam and peanut butter, milk and fruit

Lu) Speckled Spirals (p. 42 SDL)

Su) Chinese mushroom soup (p. 77 Slow Cooker Dinners)

Friday:

Lu) Bacon and Egg Wrap (p. 54 SDL)

Su) Chunky Vegetable Chili (p. 77 SCD) and dessert: Plum Pie (I have to – somebody gave me a huge pail of fresh plums!)

Weekends, of course, will be leftovers and whatever the heck is easy, cheap, convenient, ready, fast, (uh – nutritious…yeah), and not time-consuming. High calorie is ok – I have four growing (and currently very skinny) kids. I, on the other hand, must watch my calories as must my husband. We are both within the recommended BMI range for our heights, but at the high end of “normal”. 6 years ago
