take courses on eco building

well my trailer is full of molds and leaks and rotting walls. this summer I am going to try to pull out the trailer and build a timberframe structure with natural infills. I will have a short time to complete this.

I had hoped to take a course this summer in earthbag construction – but a new home is pretty important before the snow flies again

Ok so I am a bit slow at this 43 things deal. I have been on it for a while now but really ahve not been as active as … well I have not been active. Skye my fantastically motivated mate is on all the time. lately she has been ….encouraging me to take the time to make entries and be involved.

well any how I did take the course. Almost everything that could go wrong to prevent me from going happened. On a couple of occasions i came close to giving up this year figuring as always that I would try again next year. But I didn’t give up – despite what it cost me and all the things that went wrong – I went and so did Skye and TayLora, one of my girls.

The course was a bit less than I had hoped but a great experience none the less. I think the reason that I went regardless of the adversities was that for far to long life throws things in my path that seem insurmountable and I had grown accustomed to the notion that I can always give it a go in the future. That future may never come. I have goals and aspirations that are built upon being successful in other goals in order to move forward.

THis year it was about saying puck it to obstacles and just doing it. This was some of the best decisions I have made in years. I feel again that if I commit – believe it, see it – I does happen.

well now I can move forward with other building courses I want to take and hope to start on some eco building this summer.

I already used the timber framing and post and beam learning to build my barn this fall past. – all reclaimed materials cost me less than 250 dollars an man did it feel good – dunny when you feel good and enjoy something like that – everyone comes out of the woodwork wanting to help and be a part of it.

I registered skye, bug and bear for a 5 week course in Kimberly BC. it should be fun. starts in July. Next year I will take the earth bag course. Had to use RRSPs to pay for the course. what is the point of saving up money for a life that you may not be around to live. spending on education and fullfilling dreams is something I can do now for a better life later.
