I love how you feel so graceful in the water. And the lack of strain on your joints is another big plus.

    Tennis, etc 3 years ago

I was playing tennis early in the summer with some friends. The problem was that I had a hard time finding an appropriate friend to play with. My current friends weren’t any good at tennis. I’m nothing special but I need people who’ve played before. I guess next year I’ll have to find a better tennis partner(s). I want to start sailing. Besides that, other sports that work for me are walking and backpacking. Also, I’ve found recently that for excercise I’ve been having a good time jogging to the lake and doing pushups, pullups, and situps along the way. That’s not a sport exactly but it does give me a straight forward and reliable method of excercise. I feel 100% afterwards. And the solitary style helps me focus. Sport is fun but if it doesn’t achieve the goal of physical excercise then it’s going to be extra. I suppose if I had a good tennis partner I wouldn’t have to jog and could play tennis and stick to just the pushup, pullup, situp, etc in addition. Ok, this is really just a diary I guess. Good luck.

    rollerblade 3 years ago

well yoga did not work out as my usual pattern applies… Midterm comes and all sports go out the window.. so I’m thinking I have to include sport as a mean of transportation. I just started rollerblading (well two days in a row) to the next subway station instead of just going to my station. It’s just 10 minutes a day, but better than nothing!

yoga part 2 3 years ago

ok.. well, I’ve been doing yoga once a week for three weeks now. I have noticed a decrease in anxiety and feel pretty good about it. Now since midterm has arrived let’s see how I can keep it up. I know once a week is not a lot since it is the only active activity that I do, but for me, baby steps are necessary and I think that the non-competitive ambiance of yoga mixed with the fact that we keep our eyes closed most of the time works for me. Try to accept my body and accept my limits! Hey it’s hard when you perform in mostly everything you do apart from sports which are supposed to be so important and so valued… I guess in my case it’s a humility lesson!

This semester I will try yoga.. I figured it was a good sport to start exercising again… I’m crossing my finger that this will be the one.
