Had some excellent instruction here in SF thru a tennis teacher in Dolores Park. Not quite sure he’s teaching with a permit but he’s excellent all the same; really worked on my backhand so that I feel quite confident in it. I just need to work more on my serve, as well as play some real games w/a reg tennis partner…hopefully this will be in Seoul!
...well, maybe once a day is a bit much but I think you need at least 3 – 5 X a week in anything to improve. I’ve been trying to narrow down a list of things I really want to get good in from an endless repository of dreams I have, and tennis is one of them. First of all, it’s an excellent game to play that requires a minimum of money upfront (outside of court rental costs); Second, it’s a sport you can play for a lifetime and improve for a lifetime in; Third, you can get really funny clothes to play in. So far I’ve invested in 6 private lessons while I was in DC, where I was at 2.5 level, and am planning on taking more lessons in San Francisco until I get to a solid 2.5. I’m hoping to get to a 3.0 level once I arrive in Seoul.
