since i’m so new at my job, it wasn’t too hard to clear off the top surface of my work desk… the inside is a bit stuffed… but it’s mostly food. (granola bars etc, because i want to make sure that i have food on hand for when the hunger hits, so that i choose sensible(ish) food and also so that i don’t go and buy something unnecessary to either waist or pocketbook)
How to pick one small area of my house... any area... and keep it immaculate for a week... just a week... just one tiny area... is that so hard?
How I did it: Being obsessive compulsive personality it's really easy :-) I have to have everything clean!
Lessons & tips: Everything has it's place, and everything gets returned. I can clean the whole house (after my daughter has left a trail of mess) in under an hour, usually by going through the house room by room, picking up all her stuff and putting it in her room, where it should be!

i think it is partly due to ABT syndrome (as in, i want to do “anything but this” with “this” being whatever I have to do)
but partly it’s due to, I think, the understanding that if surroundings are more serene and orderly, then the mind can think more easily…
