redecorate my room so that i love it

Im 14 and i want to redecorate my 9 by 10 room. For the past 5 years i’ve had the metallic blues oranges pinks neon greens but im looking for a mre grown up theme. I really like comtemporary styles and i eat sleep and breath music

I wish. My dad won’t let me get rid of the old stained nasty teal carpet. I think I’ll just cover it with a bunch of hemp rugs, or whatever. Anything to hippie it up. I want to paint my room in a colorful way. Just different colored walls, each one different. It would be awesome.

My crazy mom is making me get off. Being on later, 43 Thing-ers!

At first, I had a smaller room, but then I moved into my brother’s old crash pad. The style was “oceanic princess” (my dad and I dawned the name). I hate it. The furniture, the bed (those stiff one’s the “form-fit your body”), everything about it. I’m going for a hippie 1960’s kind of thing (I’m so into the Beatles, it’s not even funny). I don’t know if I can stay commited to the work. Plus, my dad says that he won’t get rid of my old, permenantely stained ugly colored carpet! What do I do to get motivated?

I love my new space. I will post pictures up when I clean it a little (college is a bitch) but it looks awesome when it’s clean. The next step will be organizing all my clothes so that it will STAY awesome, but that’s to come. Either way, it’s wonderful having a space to call your own—especially when you live in Boston like me and share a place with four people. It’s my mecca where I can be myself and be expressive. I am planning on working on it some more, but as of right now, I feel excellent about it.

loving your living space is infinitely important. always do it. even if you live in a box, at least color it with markers or something/ :) make it your own.

Built the shelves. Ordered the rug from Crate and Barell. Framed photos of Geishas on the wall. Hot Pink/Black color combinations with Pink Curtain Panels from Urban Outfitters. I also ordered throw pillows but would like to buy some larger pillows to fill out the bed more. Built my new desk.

I will post a picture when I am satisfied! How is everyone else doing with this?

i told my mom for my 22nd birthday i would like to redecorate my room. she agreed so in july we’re going to decorate it, with help from her funding. :-D
