I have a flight booked to travel to Eilat in Israel in February 2010, where I will be right by The Red Sea. I have visited this destination once before, 4 years ago, and the Red Sea is beautiful, so blue and so clear and I cannot wait to go back and see what else there is to offer this time.
I’m travelling with my best friend and we have promised that we will both snorkel as the coral reefs are diminishing over time and we want the experience before it’s too late.
I hope to accomplish this goal by March 2010 and will add photos when i’ve done it.
4 months to go!

DocD is working on time travel.
This is one of my favorite pastimes. I do it almost everyday. It’s more or less part of my job. Even when I travel to a foreign country, I always take my mask and snorkel with me. I never know when I might need it, and I usually always do.

There is much to be discovered under the sea. It’s certainly something you must do, several times in your life, in different places. A word of advice though, never ever throw bread within 3 feet near you. They swarm, and if you’re a first timer like I was, there is a high chance you’ll freak out. It’s a bit overwhelming in that sense, but after that, you’ll never regret it.
My favorite coral so far was a perfectly modeled brain one. And I’m a Bio student, so I should know! Beautiful are the creations that don this Earth.
Do it.

I went snorkelling in Majorca when we went to a beautiful little cove. We put our snorkelling masks on but left our flippers off as they were just annoying. It amazing being able to view the underwater world and seeing all the little fish swimming below you and around you. While I was underwater I looked out in the oppposite direction from the beach and all I saw was the blueness of the ocean and it went on foreever.. it was like it was endless. Breathtaking.

There’s nothing like being in the water from high tide to low tide just watching the fish, turtles and other sea creatures. Everyone should try it at least once.
