keep learning new things

I just joined this blog. I want to learn new things

Hmmm. I’m studying for my professional Diploma in Marketing and that is something new. particularly as I started off as an Engineer. I’m off to a study weekend for it this weekend!!!

But generally. for my own amusement I want to keep learning and discovering things i didn’t know. I’ve just been reading a great book called “Watching the English” which looks at what are our english traits and why do we do them. fasinating stuff. Bassically we don’t like to make a fuss or draw attention to ourselves, weather talk is used for ice-breaking, introductions and conversation filler – explains why we always talk about it. We don’t like to be too earnest about stuff – why we are alwas sarcastic and ironic. not that other people aren’t just that we do it all the time. – great book – I highly reccommend it to the English and to everyone else!!

i also bought a book about the religons of the world that looks at their developlemt over the last 2000 years + quite interesting so far – but only a short way into it: Just starting to look at India in the far past.
