Ted was happy that I had called him today. He had mentioned in his e-mail to me that he could give me better answers via phone and gave his number. I’ll admit, I thought of not calling and just e-mailing him back- but… I’m glad I called him. I got a lot of things answered because of it.

I also had planned on visiting Almost Home today, but couldn’t because my car door wouldn’t open (so cold here). I had told Meredith that I would be there. So I called her up (after not finding de-icer at the Bookstore) and she was grateful. I knew she would have been expecting me- as they are on a schedule there. A very particular schedule. And it would have disrupted it if they were waiting for me.

(Maybe I should work on this?) 17 months ago

So the other day my friend and I made plans to meet up on Tuesday with another friend. Tuesday rolls around and I don’t hear from him until later- by then, I just don’t feel like going out, and I am helping a friend with something, and have lots of work to do. I did call him back and tell him that I wasn’t going to be able to meet up. I did get back to him, but the point was that I didn’t follow through- I had told him I would be there earlier in the week. (Note, he didn’t seem to mind. But it bothered me. Solutions? Get back to person sooner if you’re too busy to do something. Learn to say No when you’re too busy.)

I was sitting in on a Criminal Thinking class today. I lost track of time at my computer and didn’t leave the room til 11:09, and I was supposed to be there at 11:30. It took me several minutes to shovel off my car and then hightailitto the place. I ended up being 6 or so minutes late, which in the grand scheme of things, wasn’t a big deal. The lady running it was 17 minutes late (bad road conditions). But I don’t like to be late for meetings- I feel like I am not respecting/valuing the time of the other person who is waiting. Solution: Make sure to leave early, especially if you don’t know where you’re going, the roads are bad, you need to shovel off car, it’s rush house. Stay aware of the time when you have a meeting.

That means I write a lot of things down.

I have a planner I carry around with me, that I open a dozen times a day. (At least).

It helps me remember my words, so I can keep them.

I want to be a dependable friend.... 22 months ago

How can I expect others to do that when at times I fall guilty to the same thing?

It frustrates me to no end when others don’t do as they say they will.

I want to be completely true to my word.

I’m alright with keeping my word now, but I know I can still improve, and that’s what I’m going to work on.
