read at a poetry reading

I’ve been going to readings twice a month, but haven’t gotten up the nerve to read yet. But I will…sometime soon. : )

I did this when I was published in a poetry anthology - a local art gallery set up a reading - a podium, a candlelit room and the audience. I was really nervous before going up there, but once I was up at the front reading, everything came together.

There is a rush of adrenaline when reading your own words in front of a group of complete strangers. I really need to do this more often.
