How to make a new friend
It made me
feel great!
 How I did it: I applied for a new job at a place that i thought would be amazing to work at. I got the job, and was surrounded by people my age, with the same interests as me. I've made one really amazing close friend, and several other friends who are great too! Lessons & tips: put yourself in new situations. try something you've always wanted to, but were too afraid or kept putting it off. follow what you love, and you will find people who share those interests.

Trips Around Town

So, we did one school activity together this week. It was really nice to participate with another teacher.
Also, we went apartment hunting for her in the area, and then we went shopping at a local store. She couldn’t hang out this weekend, because she is out of the state. But, she’s supposed to come to a party that I plan to throw at the end of the month. We’ll probably do something next week…. apple picking maybe?
I feel like marking this goal as complete, but to make sure it sticks… I’m going to hold off and make sure that the friendship continues to progress.

I have a good friend who lives in another state who has another good friend in Utah that she has been encouraging me to get to know since we have similar interests. I went ahead and emailed her and will get together with her at some point in time to maybe meet and perfect our triathlon events together.

A new teacher started at my school this year. I’ve been talking to her on a regular basis in attempts to build a close friendship with someone new. We went out with everyone from work twice this week. I invited her horseback riding, but she was busy. She said maybe we could go apple picking sometime. She seems really nice, and there’s potential for a new friendship.

To make new friends, I think I’ve realised you need to be a better friend to the ones you already have.
Yesterday I really felt as though I acted like a good friend. It’s easy to isolate yourself when you convince yourself that breaking your own routine to accommodate others is too much of a hassle.
I have to remember that the reward is well worth the effort.
