For weeks now I have been printing off a blank timetable every week with the idea of planning out how I’m going to spend my time and organise my life. It’s a great idea, but unfortunately the timetable stays pretty much blank because I seem to have some sort of phobia about committing things to a particular timeslot. Of course, this leads to me not getting them done rather than leaving my time open to exciting opportunities that may possibly pop up unhampered by a filled-in timetable.
So this week, I have filled in my timetable. So far, it’s feeling good. It means that I don’t have to make decisions, and as my decisions usually result in the lazy option, less decision making is a good thing.

I think I’m getting somewhere with establishing a morning routine. Nothing amazing, but I’ve started thinking the night before about what I’ll have for breakfast and I am now making my bed before I leave. I don’t know what has prompted the bed-making, but it makes the room look much nicer. Not that the rest of the room looks that nice, with all the crap I keep on the floor, but it’s a small step in the right direction.
As for breakfast, I’m currently experimenting with porridge. I put raspberries in this morning and that was yummy. Blueberries give you purple porridge though, which is fun.

everything on my checklist for starters. i’d also like to eat breakfast and have a shower every morning. and maybe set aside some time for reading a paper or publication as well as time for a book. then there’s the chores – cooking, planning meals and grocery needs, laundry, filing, and any general cleaning that needs doing.
