After becoming a chronic pancreatitis patient I was warned the next step was diabetes (type 2). Don’t want to go there!
I now drink a gallon of water a day. I keep a quart sized bottle by my bed and during the night I will drink almost half of it and the rest when I wake up to take meds/vitimins.
Like losing weight, or quitting drinking, or smoking (REALLY tough ones), it too takes a conscious effort in the beginning.
Now, I feel much better with a gallon a day (I live in the California, foothills) and almost double the fiber a day. I love oranges and eat 2 apples a day.
Fast food is history and I order wisely when eating at restaurants.
Take care out there!

I started a diet on January 20th. I started with 2 32oz cups a day, with those water mixers with that evil aspartame. Well, this week, I’m almost at 4 32oz cups a day and no aspartame. I work at a hospital and have access to Deer Park coolers—-YAY!! I also mix in 1 4oz fruit juice and a packet of Truvia to spruce up my water. I really do not like the taste of water, but it’s getting better. I do pee a lot but my skin is so much softer and smoother now. I’ve lost 23 pound so far with about 100 to go.

I work outside in Texas, so I usually get closer to two gallons per day. They tell me I’m still dehydrated (because I usually only pee once from 8-5), but I usually feel all right. I sweat a lot more than most of my co-workers.

I did it for about six to eight weeks. It was worth it for getting rid of my excess weight and also closed up a dural leak I had in my brain. It was worth it for me, but it may not be worth it for you. If you like to urinate every couple of hours, go for it. If not, I would recommend gradually building up to around three quarts a day. You can get some of it from foods as well, like vegetables and fruits.
I just caution you on one thing. Do not drink too much water. Too much water meaning over a gallon in an hour span or more than four gallons a day. It could kill you, due to brain swelling. Keep it under two gallons at all costs. Thank you.

I am using water as a substitute for coffee, diet drinks and caffeinated teas.

I’ve been drinking as much for a while now. I stopped drinking sodas, coffees, teas – anything but water and occasionally milk. I found my thirst for water, and now it seems so much better than anything else. Of course, the downside is that it makes you have to pee a lot. Haha. Particularly if you drink water late at night, after your food has passed through your stomach. Of course, I pee clear now, which is what they say is how it’s supposed to be, right? Altogether a good goal and better for you.

Rondrea D. Mathis is living a dream... living the dream...dancing, whirling, twirling...
Having done this once, it should be easy to accomplish again. This time I want to make this a permanent change…
God help me!

1 gallon= 3.79 L= 128 ounces
Once upon a time I was a track runner with an excercise/practice regiment, incredible water intake and diet fit for champions…Well now in my mid twenties I may walk up and down the stairs a couple of times, drink a couple cups of anything, and I eat fast food at least 3 times a week. Alot of things have changed..so since life is all about change I decieded that hey I am going to “get back in it” aka take care of myself like great human beings do!
All the signs are there: joint pain, every day I come across something thats about rehabiliating health, and hearing that cancer runs in my family in many forms.
So…I have increased my intake to 3 bottles (1.5L) of water a day, not much but a start. My 90 day plan begining 15 of Sept. includes going from 1.5-2.0-2.5-3.0 liters of water/healthy fluides per day. The gallon gives me something to reach towards because hey lets face it if I say just drink more water I’ve improved 10 fold over last month and I still am not @ daily recommended value…
What’s healthy? well it depends on your body. Some say 8 glasses a day, for alot of women it’s 2.5 liters or 83 ounces. A little over a 1/2 a gallon.
A cool quiz to take that determines how much water you should have per day:
