learn to promote myself positively

I grew up with the idea that people who promote themselves are generally obnoxious, self-absorbed, and a lot less interesting than they think they are. I’d like to get rid of that idea. I want to be able to promote my work to the right people in an appealing way. I don’t want to be self-depricating when I know my work is good. I want to have the kind of confidence and excitement about my work that gets people’s attention and makes them want to work with me or see what I’m doing.
