Thanks Dad 11 months ago

This has been neglected something fierce over the past few months….then we got sooooo much rain and ofcourse all the weeds began to grow again. Fortunately Dad saved the day and came over while I was at work and did a heap of clearing in the front garden bed. I have the trimming and other bits to do but it is managable.

Look….. this corn was planted less than 4 weeks ago and they were tiny. Now they are starting to get side shoots that usually come with real (not the imaginary ones of my dreams) ears of corn. So happy about it, I might get the hang of this vege patch idea yet.

Spring 13 months ago

There are weeds everywhere, the flowers need all the dead heads taking off. I have random tomato plants that sprouted out of the compost that I used to plant my seedlings in. I have killed all the pansies that I planted but the sweet peas have started to flower so all is good.

not this year 18 months ago

I have one 7 acre property and the other is 2 and a half acres. I just can’t keep everything tidy…...TOO stressful! Giving up for this year!

my garden 18 months ago

Has turned into a field. Not sure where to start. Really! It’s scary….. Need to think about this tomorrow and maybe take action.

Looks much better 19 months ago

Obviously I’ll need to keep on top of it, but I feel much better now the garden looks better, having taken a big load to the tip.

We have put river pebbles in the garden to keep the weeds away & it should be much easier to look after. It looks great too.

My son & I are motivated to finish the garden & get it looking great.

Looking forward to getting this done.

Part of the motivation was the help my wife’s step-father gave us while we were in India & he was having treatment for his brain tumour. He’s coming around again next week & I think he will be pleased with the progress.

gerbras 20 months ago

I had a gerbra in a pot that was in need of re potting. I thought that it would add a little colour to my dull garden. so I have transplanted it. It was doing really well so I got a couple more. I don’t think they are doing so well! :( The sweet peas that I planted up my trellis have gone funny. All the ones on one half have died, the other half seem to be doing ok…...strange.

I am so sore ... 20 months ago

Spent a day in the garden. We decided to put river pebbles in the garden to reduce the weeds & make it easier to keep it tidy.

I’ve completed 90% of the work. I aim to get it completed before 9 April.

Made a start 21 months ago

I finally got annoyed enough with the state of the front yard to do something about it. It’s not great but I managed to weed about half the bed and turn over the soil. I even managed to get enthusiastic enough to grab some very cheap bedding plants at the local shopping centre andplanted them this morning. I am looking forward to having a bit of colour around the place, everything seems so dull! I have only dealt with the bits closest to the paved areas…..I kind of figure that they are more likely to be looked after! I also cleaned out some of my pots in which I was dutifully growing dead plants and have planted some seeds. Wish me luck in my mission to finally turn my black fingers green!
