Use my car less

I live in a regional area, so I do need a car, but I try and plan the day so I can drive the minimum distance; which is all well and good, but if I get home and find I have forgotten something it is 4km to the shops, so 8km round trip. I can ride my bike sometimes, but if Owen is home I can’t, because he has autism and can’t be left alone. I bought a tandem, but he just sits on the back and says ‘Faster Mummy’, amd doesn’t peddle. But we are working on it.

I live only a couple of blocks away from campus so I already use my bike for classes. But I would like to use my bike more for getting around town. I’m not a big fan of walking, but I think I will have to because of the weather for now.

I hadn’t been very pro-active in this area having only walked to work once since I decided to do this. Today I smashed my car up – the second time in 6 months. Maybe Karma is trying to tell me something…......?
