How to go up the eiffel tower

How I did it: I was on a family holiday back in 2003 and we went to Paris for the day from London and we we're supposed to be on a fully guided tour, we got dropped off at the Eiffel Tower then had to make our way to the other side of Paris. with no previous experience in Paris plus a language barrier this was quiet difficult.
Lessons & tips: Make sure you know your way around or are on a proper FULLY guided tour.
