Who wants a silly grant? I don’t. Who wants to write reports? I don’t. Who wants to have to track each and every thought? I don’t. But I do want to get my project up and going. So, I called all the principles (after receiving a nice little reminder from 43 things) and the timing was perfect. They were all in the process (at that very moment) of contacting me. As one of my collaborators said “Sometimes, the world works.” The outcome: We are meeting and recommitting to the project. Nice.

Seems to be moving faster. Got the grant in and my producer/supporter/friend called me last night to tell me that she met some rich folks who might host a fundraiser and she is moving forward on copyrighting the treatment. Wow!
Yesterday I put in for a 5000 dollar grant! Taking steps.
I met with this producer and choreographer on Monday and they went nuts for my idea for a musical. Now I have to write a grant in over the weekend that’s due on Monday. Why is it always like that. I suppose if it were different you’d never get it done. Anyway, I’ve got a possible producing partner, a grant going in to do something on the project, a commitment (at least verbally) to take the piece to the NY Musical Fest in fall 2009. It’s happening! Wow!
My mom told me to look for angels and I met a producer on Sunday whose last name means angel. I emailed her on Tuesday and she set up a meeting with a director this coming Monday and there is a grant we are maybe going to jointly apply for. Weird. Who knows, could be a step forward.
