Become a travel nurse in 5 to 7 years (after my children leave home)

A girl at work just left on a 13 travel assignment – her first one. It’s piqued my curiosity and now I am looking at different travel agencies. I am starting to consider just where I want to go one day.

My youngest child is almost 14. She is a bright young girl and ambitious. With any luck, she will go away to college in 4 1/2 years. My idea is to take my first travel nursing assignment in 5-6 years when my kids are safely out of the nest. I want to work on the West Coast and travel in between assignments. This will give me a chance to “see the country” however cliched that may be.
