Dante_Inferno is setting goals. Today is the first day of the rest of my life :-)
This has been a goal for me ever since doing martial arts as a teenager! I’m now 32, not doing martial arts at the moment but still pretty fit and I think with stretching every morning I could achieve it in a few months. When I have attempted it before I did make noticeable gains, but unfortunately I have always quit.
I have to combine this goal with getting up early enough in the morning (06:45am) to spend 15 mins doing them as well as shower, get dressed etc. This is probably the hardest thing for me!
I have been doing yoga every Weds for a few weeks, I aim to keep that up to compliment the morning stretching, but I know from reading and experience that its the daily stretch that is going to lead to the gains. I’ll keep you updated, as its good motivation for me!

Today was GREAT! I’ve made noticeable progress in my front splits! I can rest on the floor, and am only about an inch, inch and a half off the ground. Wooooohoooooooo!

After some assisted stretching (I didn’t swear, I’m very proud of myself!) on Thursday, I have noticeable progress on my front splits. Especially if my left leg is the one in front, I’m only a few inches off the ground now. I’m thrilled! My straddle splits however aren’t progressing much.

I’ve been wanting to improve my flexibility so this seems like a good, measurable goal! I’ll start with front splits (both legs) and I’m giving myself three months to get there.

It’ll take a miracle, but luckily, I feel up to creating exactly that.

cosine is at a sporting event.
I’ve been going to at least 4 hours of ballet every week, and I’ve incorporated more stretching into the blank space time of daily life. My flexibility has improved a lot. I have done the splits three times since I set this goal, but nothing more than that. I could only do it:
1. on the left side
2. after a few hours of stretching and exercise
3. when I wasn’t tired or sore
I am tired and sore most of the time. I will consider this goal completed once I can do the splits on both sides without a good deal of strain.

Starting stretching legs more after gym sessions. Not too far to go actually.
Also starting Kung Fu at a club where they have stretching classes twice a week.
