I was in dance and gymnastics when I was younger, and was in cheerleading all through high school. This really kept me flexible and in my sophomore year of high school I started doing yoga, keeping me limber, and giving me better balance! Just stretch for a little bit every da, even if its o,y five minutes, you’ll get closer and closer everyday! 2 weeks ago
I am beginning to loosen up. I can now reach my toes when my legs are straight in front of me, and I can get my back leg all the way flat on the floor while my front is at a 90 degree angle. Much better than I used to be. 4 weeks ago
I’ve been able to do the splits on both sides a few more times since the first time I did it. I’ve also been able to get my face down to the floor with my legs spread pretty far apart (trying to get center splits) but those last few inches for center splits are coming along slowly. 1 month ago
A few weeks ago I did the left splits for the first time and it was amazing! There’s actually something really comforting about your thigh settling onto the ground. I couldn’t stop smiling for the rest of the night. I’ve been working on the splits for a while now.
Then after that, I couldn’t even get close the next few times I tried. I was pretty sick and wasn’t working out for at least a week and a half, and whenever I tried to stretch I was really tight and at least a few inches off the ground in both side splits.
Last night before Tae Kwon Do, I was stretching and I did the right splits for the first time ever. Yay! Then I switched sides and I did the left splits again!
All that’s left is center splits. I’m not quite there yet, but I’ve seen HUGE progress over the past month or two. 2 months ago
I know this doesn’t distinguish between right, left and center splits, but that’s okay because I want to do all three.
My right splits are pretty close, but they haven’t been improving much lately.
My left splits, I THINK are slowly catching up to my right splits.
My center splits, which were originally the worst by far, are actually getting pretty close. My progress here has made me really happy. 2 months ago
Skating has always been such an integral part of me and I’m not going to let a little hick bring me down. I remember my grade 12 essay… I’m never going to stop skating. And the best thing I can do right now is to improve my physique. That way, next year, she can eat her own dust when I can skate laps around everyone else. 3 months ago
