Wear sunscreen every day!

Could this be a new habit? 2 weeks ago

Wow – I have been doing this on a daily basis (at least) since June 3.
As I have my 2 bottles of sunscreen (one for the face and one for the body) easily accessible on my bathroom counter, it’s easy to remember after my morning shower.
Only once did I set off to go out without putting out my sunscreen first, but I remembered as I was going through the door, came back and did it.
10 more days and I’ll consider this goal a success!

I already wear sunscreen on most days, even in the winter.
It’s a great way to use up last year’s supplies, before it turns to old to be of any use.

In the winter I use it on my face, and on the – few – exposed parts of my body.
Now that short-sleeve season is here, I also use it on my arms and chest.

I noticed lately that on the few days I DON’T use it, my skin acts funny. On two occasions, a minor irritation (like a mosquito bite or a mild rash from wearing latex gloves) turned into an ugly thing.

I don’t care if it’s because the sun is burning more or my skin is turning even more sensitive; I will make wearing sunscreen a DAILY habit.

No wrinkles for me.. 12 months ago

I’ve been trying to wear it every day but I run out so fast. :/

Natural Sunscreens 12 months ago

This is a big goal of mine. I want a sunscreen I can wear on my face under my makeup, and also a daily moisturizer with sunscreen. Problem is, I’m incredibly neurotic about my beauty products. I wont use anything that has dangerous chemicals, and it has to be approved by cosmeticdatabase.com. I’m still searching for the perfect products, that are safe, affordable, and don’t irritate my sensitive skin.

Did you guys see this article saying that sunscreens with Mexoryl are the most effective? 19 months ago

Many people incorrectly assume dry skin leads to wrinkles and that moisturizers can prevent them. Not true. Research shows 90 percent of wrinkles are caused by the sun’s UVA light and sun damage is the #1 cause of premature aging in women and men.
Why are UVA rays so bad? Even at low-level exposures, UVA light breaks down collagen, which causes wrinkles. Even worse, scientists have found that UVA is the main culprit for many melanomas because it reaches deep into the underlying support structure of the skin.

Your options for sun protection are SPF moisturizers, basic sunscreens or tinted moisturizers.

1. The Best Sunscreen in the World—La Roche Posay Anthelios

“This is arguable, of course. But even dermatologists we’ve read tout La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Lait SPF is the best sunscreen in the world. Why does this sunscreen work so well? Because of the chemical “Mexoryl,” well-known all over the world to protect skin from wrinkle-causing UVA rays. (Most sunscreens only protect against UVB rays).
How good is Mexoryl? “It produces a product which gives us almost perfect protection against sunshine,” said Dr. Vincent DeLeo, chairman of dermatology at Columbia University to ABC News.”

Just curious…what is IPL?

Pre-emptive success 1 year ago

Some may think that I am being a little trigger-happy in saying I have completed this since it stipulates EVERY DAY which would indicate I would need some sort of well-formed long term habit in order to say I DO…but I am already habituated with wearing moisturizer every day, and have simply changed to one with SPF. I’ve given it a week and my skin loves it so easy done!

If I don’t, in summer, late spring or early autumn, I’m going to get a sunburn. In summer it’s a 30 SPF or more, in other seasons 8 SPF or more in a foundation or a moisturizer.

Oil of Old Lady 2 years ago

I am going to achieve this by using oil of olay as my moisturiser cause it has a sunscreen in it. It smells pretty good too.
