How to take a road trip around the US
How I did it: Bought an America the Beautiful national park pass and went from Florida over the California, up to Canada and back home. Went through 26 states, 16 national parks. National parks are the most beautiful places in the country waiting for you, it helps to plan when your connecting the dots between them, and searching for interesting stops in between.
I slept in the back of my car the whole way, never paid to sleep anywhere. Had a few night time visits from the police, and was told to move a few times, but I learned to stop at a)Wal Marts b)Hotels.
Lessons & tips: If you like to backpack, hike, and camp, spend more nights out in the wild.
Pay attention to all speed limits, especially leaving Las Vegas (I bet you can guess why I'm saying that).
200 miles, 2000 miles from home is not 200 miles. Make the extra drive if you really want to see something.
