Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

bemsyWii and Golf

We’ve brought the Wii back – and consequently, I’m actually getting SOME exercise each day. Additionally, I walked nine holes with Dad, Liam and Sarah for the latter’s first go with her clubs. And, on NYE, I spent hours in the pool. I’m going to try doing sit ups every night before I go to sleep – and doing the seven minute workout every two days – but all in all I feel okay! :) 9 months ago

cardio, weights, stretching.
Right now I’m back up to weekly workout with trainer plus (most weeks) one dance class. I have done a little weights at home a few times. I want to work up to two dance classes and more frequent and longer at-home weights.
I have figured out one motivation to do weights: I like to jump in the shower the second I get home from work, but when it’s very cold I need to warm up a little before it’s good to jump in the shower, but I don’t really want to do anything while I wait because I feel icky from work. But I could do weights; that will fill the time AND warm me up. 2 years ago

This week I did something to my knee. I have had problems with it in the past, but thought that physio had sorted it out. But on Monday it started to hurt again for no reason, and I was struggling to walk up and down stairs.

I only went to my pilates class this week because it is low impact – I didn’t want to damage my knee any further. It’s OK again now though, so back to normal this week. 2 years ago

I ended up having several evening commitments this week that clashed with my usual classes. in fact, I only managed 1 class ( Pilates) all week. I did do some walking, but not much, and I don’t feel as good as I do if I’ve done more exercise.

went to a 50 minute FitTone class (cardio and toning)
went to a 50 minute Pilates class
went to a 50 minute Zumba class
