Not really a big deal, kind of a cool place to post stuff about yourself to share with family and friend. Thankfully not a lot of people know about it, so you don’t have to worry about everyone and thier brother sister and 3rd cousin twice removed asking to be your “friend” (you know like that other big social networking site that is so popular).
