learn how to tattoo

I’d really badly like to get an apprenticeship.

my boyfriend let me use his tattoo gun the other day and i practiced drawing on my purse…it wasnt that good and he was almost out of ink..but i still tried

Having already known the technicalities of it, shop sterilization procedures, bar, needle and tube designation, ink application, etc… I bought my own equipment and got to work. I practiced and practiced on pork hocks (pig legs) and started working on friends. I’m really appreciating my prior experiences with it and my degree in illustration, because seriously it helps. I’m writing this one as complete, and adding learn to tattoo better.

Carey let me do a nice big ship on his arm. I like it. I did the outline yesterday. (And before anyone gets weird I’ve worked in shops before, so I know all my blood-born-pathogen weirdness and sterilization processes!) I had practiced on pork hocks up until this point, but human flesh is a completely different consistency. (THEY LIED!!!) Anyhow, I think it turned out well for a first go, some small line inconsistency but we’ll see how it heals up before I put in the shading…

Well, I’ve apprenticed, worked in shops and been tattooed extensively, but now it’s time to really pull up my sleeves and get down to the nitty gritty.

I need to really learn.

I think realistically it will have to wait until the summer, due to the fact that I teach high-school full time the rest of the year.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…hehe…Getting tattooed is an awesome experience, but tattooing someone must be orgasmic!!!
