So I got my Sophomore PSAT scores.. I got 53’s on both my reading and writing sections, and a 56 on the math part. My teacher told me these are equivalent to C’s! :[

Not good.

So I need to take classes or SOMETHING.

I’m taking a SAT math review course now and it is helping a lot, but I think if you really want to improve you have to study outside of class as well. In the horrible two hours after school we mostly learn strategies, and she always reminds us not to over think anything unless it’s a hard question towards the end because “these people are idiots.” Ha-ha. I love her thinking. It calms me down to remember that the questions aren’t too hard and extra, extra smart people didn’t write them out.

My year 9 SATs mocks start a week tomorrow, then the real thing comes in May. I’m getting highly stressed already, and this is just for the Mocks! Well, my ‘week before exam’ prep begins tomorrow, which includes lots of sleep and lots of brain food :) I’ll be sure to update about how my mocks go, but its even more stressing the fact that I am predicted the highest levels! No way can I do that.

take an SAT class 2 years ago

taking an SAT class really helped me. They showed me that SAT math is not that hard. its mostly easy math (algebra 1 and geometry) phrased very confusingly.

As far as the verbal section goes, they just told me to be in the zone and concentrate.

And the essay can be prepared for in advance.

If you leave 20 questions blank for each section, answer all the rest and get them correct, then your score should be 600 per section.

SATs are this saturday.. =\ not good. i haven’t even started studying..and i dunno if i’m actually going to study at all. i know i should. cause if i don’t then my score is going to be terrible. but i dunno…i just don’t have the time or motivation. all i want to do is sleep, and not fail my classes in school. but the SATs decide my future..so i’m not sure which i should really make my top priority. but i guess i have to just study when i get around to it. cause algebra homework is more important, i think.
