Go apple-picking.

Two friends and I went out to Longmeadow Farm in NJ to pick some apples yesterday, at long last.

This is something I’ve been wanting to do since, well, more than a year ago and it was satisfying to finally do it, after having had to give up on it for so long. We didn’t have a camera with us, so i got the pic below from their website. While i loved it, I think that next time, I might try to pick an organic farm. (Here they spray minimally, but they do spray as they feel the need.)

It was a scrubbed-clean blue sky day after the heaviest rainfall imaginable… perfect.

which i didn’t realize, as i had never been before… apparently you have to go by the end of September…

i guess the warm weather fooled me into thinking it’d still be open…. but when i called a local farm, the guy laughed at me… and said, well, people came out to pick apples in droves because it was so warm….

ah well… live and learn.
