My mom and I both want to take pottery classes. She’s always wanted to and it just sounded fun to me so I’m in. Right now I can’t really afford to do this, plus we are trying to get a business going, but I certainly don’t want to forget about this so I’ll keep this here for later.

I’m from Long Island and took classes at Haven Art, http://www.havenart.net/
The staff was really cool and had a great sense of community. It was a great and easy way to meet other aspiring artists as well as create original art which make great gifts for the holidays.

I have wanted to do this since I was at school but for some unfathomable reason haven’t got around to it. I have just seen classes advertised nearby so will sign up for a weekend class or after-work class before the end of the summer.
I took an eight week class with a local ceramics teacher at her house/studio, which was pretty awesome. I’d love to get more time in on a wheel because my brief experience was semi-disastrous (yes, flying clay), but sadly, she moved out of town. I did learn enough basic techniques so that I could make stuff at home if I wanted, though I’d have to find a kiln to fire and glaze my work. I use the spare change box I made in class to save a little bit of extra change every day. Definitely worth the time!
something i’ve always wanted to do. i love art, but i suck at drawing, so maybe i would be better at pottery.
