How I did it: I finally committed to joining a gym and getting a regular workout schedule. I had to realize that working out isn't a burden its 'me time'. I joined a gym on Halloween and since then I work out a minimum of 2 times per week and usually workout 4-6 times a week doing a mixture of cardio and strength training. I crave the gym now. How I did it: I decided that I wanted to lose weight and get in better shape. You have to have this goal in mind and believe you're going to go for it; otherwise it is not going to happenBeing in school helps a lot because I also take a weight training class and we work out for an hour 2-3 times a week I also bought a few simple supplies of my own: A miniature running trampoline (Which is great for running. I have a presentation to give today. I’m going to pack a workout bag to take to class and go work my ass off afterwards at the gym.. because I haven’t done shit and I’ve been feeling so depressed because all the good hormones have left my brain :(

One of the bajillion workout dvds I bought but haven’t used is Callanetics. I found it on Amazon and was immediately transported to being a pre-teenager looking at my Mom’s Callanetics book and wondering why my legs didn’t touch just so that you could put 5 quarters where they’re supposed to be (you have to read the book or watch the dvd to understand). I was always enthralled by these women in leg warmers who were able to turn their buttocks from a pear to a peach in just a handful of sessions.
The workout dvd did not disappoint. I put on the closest thing i could find to a leotard, leg warmers and headband and finally did my first of 10 hours to looking 10 years younger. I have to admit, it was actually pretty tough. It reminded me a lot of pilates. Also, it was so outdated, that it was totally hilarious, and I found myself laughing a lot.

I finally got my butt in gear to use one of the many workout dvds I’ve bought and never used. It was a ballet conditioning workout, and it was freaking hard. I’m definitely glad I was familiar with all the moves b/c they didn’t give any instruction on how to do the move or give any technique tips. I couldn’t complete all the reps and there were one or two moves I outright couldn’t do. It was a tough one to start back with, but I’m glad I did it, and I would definitely use it again.
