Learn to play the concertina

I picked up a reasonable anglo 20 button (Stagi) and started playing with it. Not that much instruction I have found via books or people. Lots of it seems pretty involved and cluttered, I just want to do some nice melodies, sing along. So, I have started.

I bought a cute little concertina down in Oregon a few summers back. I also got a book of instructions and sheet music to help me learn.

But to learn to play it, I really need to give it the time and attention it deserves. I need to teach my fingers the right habits and go for the gold!

The only people I know who play these are ballerinas, monkeys, and pirates.

I figure I’ll start with the monkeys and work up to the pirate sea shanties.

I tried the guitar for a while and couldn’t get into it. The more I tried, the more I couldn’t visualize myself playing the guitar. It just didn’t fit my style. For some reason the squeeze box really draws me as something that fits me better.
