Learn how to paint with oil paints

my one claim to fame, an actual piece of artwork my mom hung up was the still life of a porcelain chicken :) it actually turned out very well and i’m proud whenever i see it.

i can’t comprehend how some artists have the ability to make everything so beautiful in oils, it’s soooo hard!! when i took the class, it made me really appreciate the time it takes to make good art.

Well, I went to the first class and it was great! I’ll post a pic of my first oil painting as soon as I finish it. But unfortunately, the rest of the class for July was canceled due to the teacher’s schedule. So I will try to sign up again to paint with him in August.
The silver lining is this will give me time to save up the money for the rest of the painting supplies I need. :)

I signed up for a 5-week class that starts tomorrow! I bought most of my supplies this morning (what I could afford…) I am so excited to start!

Must have sustenance.. Must buy food.. Go home and find oil paints et al(l) cheaper online.. :giggle:

I love it so much but I hardly have the time to do it anymore. With practise, oil painting can be very easy though the paints and canvas can be a bit pricey.

.. as I think it is really easy learn to do it.. I think is one of first way of paintings if you wanna be a painter.

Anycase.. don’t understand why many painters of the most famous like Andrea Martinelli or Giovanni Frangi stopped this kind of painting … for do aquarel now…

I give up on this until I can afford some paints and stuff.

Learning the Bob Ross oil painting technique was a lifelong goal, and I learned it in a way that I can share it with others.

I could only open 3 tubes of paint and they were no good anyway. I need new paints before I can start practising.

It helps to be surrounded by open minded people learning and making mistakes right along side of you. Also, you will see that everyone has their own style and it help you appreciate your own.
