joie de vivre"acting" manager
I am currently “acting” manager of the Washington Higher Education Facilities Authority. Some time over the next few months, no later, I’ve been promised, than February, they will decide whether or not to make me permanent manager.
If I am not made manager, I see no reason why they would ever give me that job title in the future. Which really means I will never do anything other than what I ever have at that agency. Which means I would have to quit, because I would slit my throat before saying I’m going to do the same old shit for the next twenty years. But I would then be looking for work from a disadvantaged position – they would have given me the vote of no confidence – so what would anyone else think who I’d want to work for?
If I am made manager, even if I am not interested in keeping that job in the long run, I have a platform from which to apply for other jobs within the agency. And I also have a platform from which to apply for other jobs elsewhere.
I wrote some things out about how I’m going to achieve this during the more boring parts of my classes in Shelton. I will probably transcribe them here when I get a chance. 5 years ago
