grab art

I’m always on the lookout for art – the medium doesn’t matter. I went to see the national collection at Te Papa the other day and saw The Scarred Couch which is one of my favourites. I love the energy of this painting.

This website is stunning and I have been transfixed for hours admiring the beautiful fabrics and paper, and the rooms that have been styled. I had room envy for just a little while…

...how to measure and complete this, but I’ve definitely improved my awareness and appreciation of art, so I’ll count it as done.

A discarded tie-wrap sitting on my desk for a while became a cat this morning.

There are a few galleries in town and I’ve been popping in when I wander by instead of just wandering by and looking through the window.

I’ve also signed up as a Friend of my local art gallery. I’ve been enjoying a lot of the exhibitions they’ve held recently and I want to support them. I’ve wondered about some of the events being a bit too high brow but I know someone who is also a friend and she says there are some non-art snobs there too:)

Inspired by this reply to this post, this goal for me is about consciously bringing art into my everyday life when and where possible.
