I am trying so hard. I’m getting there, I think. I feel like I’ll be able to do it someday, at least.

i have this thing where my tongue is shorter than the average persons, so it’s impossible for me to do it. =[ im bummed

can u actually learn how to do this properly? i thought you were just born with it like dangly ear lobes or something

I’m starting to have some success with this. This website helped http://www.wikihow.com/Roll-Your-%22R%22s along with my friend telling me to make a U-shape with my tongue.

I can never do it on purpose and I think my tongue hates me.

Is there anyway you can learn to do it if you can already roll your r’s in the back of your throat? (Like Germans do…)

Or am i just clinging on to some vague hope….?

So I was practicing this rolling of the tongue thing today and I was really giving it my all. I sat in front of the mirror as I did a few stretching exercises with my tongue. Rolled it around in my mouth a bunch of times. Leaned my head back and said butter like a hundred times. And guess what…

My tongue still hates me.

It refuses to roll! I still sound like I am saying “laraaaaa”, rather than “rrrrrrrrr”.
