Woo Hoo!!! 3 days ago

While I was working on the office clutter, I found a brand new, still in the box and original sealed wrap etc etc toner cartridge for a copier that I no longer have.

In a moment of clarity and brilliance (because I was just going to put it in a goodwill box) I slapped that bad boy on ebay and it sold this morning!!! $50 in my paypal account.

Happy Hippie Dance going on here

The office gets to be tackled ahead of schedule . . . 1 week ago

it seemed that my monitor was going out. About two days ago all of a sudden my screen had this kind of yellow-green haze that I couldn’t correct no matter what I did. I had some reports to finish so I decided to just live with it until the weekend. Today the whole screen turned red. Now it was really hard to deal with and I decided that it was clearly the monitor going out. It is about 8 years old. I sooooooooooooo did not want to spend the money right now to get a new monitor. It’s just not in the budget.

My daughter said that I could use hers and she mostly uses her notebook and seldom uses her desk top anymore. Cool . . . so Mr. HC goes into her room to get the monitor. In the mean time, I now have to “clear a path” as he puts it so he can change out the monitor. As I “clear a path”, the plug thingy that plugs into the back of the computer box thingy just falls out onto the desk.

hmmmmmmmm not supposed to do that.

Mr. HC investigates . . . it seems that the plug thingy had just come loose somehow and when he put it back and tightened it up, I had a reuglar screen again. So Mr. HC schleps the monitor back into my daughter’s room.

However, now I have crap all over from the “path clearing” I might as well just tackle the office this weekend and be done with it.

Working on our Living room and Bedroom this weekend 1 week ago

It sounds odd to “work” on two totally different rooms at the same time, but it actually involves moving all of our books out of the bedroom and putting them in the shelves that Mr. HC built and are in the living room. He built shelves that sit on the floor under the projection screen and a set that are hanging on the wall over the bar. When I am done, we will have all of our books in one place instead of scattered all over the house.

I am also finding duplicates of books, so I can stick the duplicates on book mooch.

The dogs have been “helping” me this weekend.

big sigh

moving along bit by bit 3 weeks ago

There is the fawn sweater that I did not donate after no one bought it at the garage sale. And I pulled R’s camel sport jacket out of the donation pile because I have always loved seeing him in it. He may wear it again.

But we sold enough stuff to feel OK about donating the remainder of the clothes, minus what I mentioned and my black wool skirt suit with the skirt that wraps long on one side and short on the other, with the snappy form fitting jacket. And the felt hat with the netting. It won’t be worn in Hawaii, but there is that European adventure in the offing, later in the year, so a pretty and sexy suit is a good idea.

The house is looking barren.

We are getting there.

I really have to admit that cooking dinner tonight was really 4 weeks ago

nice in my newly arranged kitchen. I actually like where I moved everything too and I actually was able to cook quite well without all those gazillion extra spoons, spatulas, ladels and what nots that I took to goodwill yesterday. As I only got half the kitchen done this past weekend, I will be looking forward to finishing next weekend. The part that is left is the section with all the baking supplies and small appliances

I like my kitchen!!!

So today I focused on my kitchen 4 weeks ago

Mr. Hippiechick had requested that maybe I could move some things around. He wanted me to move all the tupperware and rubbermaid storage containers to a higher shelf (as he put it . . . “because he is too lazy to bend over to get them from the lower shelf”) O.K. baby, I will do this for you!!! xoxoxo

So I alternated between working on the kitchen and wasting time researching stuff on the internet. I also managed to get rid of a bunch of stuff. I had to take a new approach with myself.

I am constantly in the habit of thinking “I might need this someday” or “What if I have a big party and need this”. That line of thinking makes me never get rid of anything. So today I took the line of thought “When is the last time I actually used this thing” or “What is it? or “How the hell many of these things do I actually need?

Seriously . . . I had 4 cork screws, 2 pizza cutters, 3 apple slicers, 2 graters, 2 whisks (one of them was a copper one left over from my “country kitchen phase back in the 1980’s), 2 tea balls, 3 pasta servers, 5 gazillion spoons, spatulas, and ladels, 1/2 gazillion little cheese spreaders that come in hickory farm gift boxes . . . so you get the picture.

They are all loaded up now. Except for the broken stuff which I tossed, they can all go to goodwill this week.

I still have a little bit more to do, but I feel much better about my progress in the kitchen.

I can’t stop going in and looking at my neatly arranged and way less cluttered drawers and cabinets

I was further inspired with the ousting of the Yellow Truck 1 month ago

and took some more crap valuable stuff to Goodwill.

Also, I had a cigar box that was actually pretty old as it as printed on the inside was 3 for .50 I think the box was from the 60’s as my Mom had it and pawned it off on me gifted it to me and I have had it just laying around. I sent it the Shelly so she could do artsy stuff with it. My little contribution to the artist community!!!

I really am getting rid of stuff that is cluttering my home and my life. It feels kind of freeing!!!

so yeah . . . I pawned my crap off on Shelly

Wooooo Hooooo 1 month ago

Mr. HC sold that damn yellow truck that has been sitting and sitting because we don’t have the money to restore it. It has just been driving me crazy. Big stupid yellow thingy in front of my house . . . GONE!!!

Actually only “kinda” gone as he sold it the next door neighbor

OK well this is what this week is ALL about 1 month ago

Gotta work on my timeline, and then the big discardia rolls on!

Sofas, beds, plants, dishes and the pantry contents. “Statues, jewels, roasts!” I’m going to lose lots of weight here!
