Save 10k

... but still sticking to this goal. I had to withdraw some money (but hey, that’s why they call it an emergency fund) so I was beginning to fear being unable to meet this goal. But luckily I have been able to save more money than expected, so within 2 months the balance has been restored. If I save 600-700 a month, I can still achieve this goal before the year ends. Wish me luck!

Currently, I have 4k in euros as an emergency/Big Plans fund. I want to make that 10k by the end of 2009. I’ll start a new, well-paying job in February. This means that I’ll have 11 months to save up 6k, so I’ll have to put aside approx. 550 euros each month. Funny thing: when I was making my calculations, I was surprised; 550 euros is a substantial amount of money, but I know I CAN spare it. Having 10k in savings at the end of this year is actually a realistic goal! Now to stick to it… I like the idea of automatic transactions; think I’m going to start doing that soon…
