Bought a ticket for Highfield 2009.
How to attend a rock festival
How I did it: Order the ticket (early) and make sure you have time during the weekend and get some days of vacation before and more importantly after. It's best and safer when you go there with friends and when you don't take the alcohol consumption overboard. (You really don't want to use you're balance on a mobile toilet in a 35°C heat.)
Lessons & tips: Not only did I refrain from drugs, I also attended the concerts not being drunk. It's still impressive and you have more control, especially when you're close to the stage and people are poging around and going crazy. So I recommend that, when you don't want to fall and/or get hurt.

Been here several times and LOVE IT. Its held the last week of june thru the first week of july. Theres one headliner show in the main arena and several free tickets throughout the park. Its like $12 to get in for the free shows and this includes just about any kind of music you can imagine: heavy metal (my personal favorite), clasic rock, jazz, country, disco, latin…Ive only paid for one headliner venue and that was Stevie Nicks (I love the Queen of Rock & Roll) but Ive seen Seether, Live, Shinedown, 3 Days Grace, Evanescence, Sevendust, and other hard rock bands. I’ve taken my kids here and never had a problem with anything either-some places people get outta hand and act stupid and you feel uncomfortable having your kids around but Ive always felt they were safe at summerfest. They even have normal bathrooms if you walk all the way to the inside of the park!!! I’ll do anything to avoid port-a-pottys in 90 degree heat!
I’m going to Download this year.. woo hoo.. G’n’R, Metallica, Tool, The Prodigy, KoRn, Deftones, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil – all headlining.
Terrific stuff!
I went to the Beastie Boys’ Tibetan Freedom concert when I was 15, and it was like the perfect age to do that. I was enthralled by it all. There was even a mud slide into the mosh pit. Remember when moshing was cool?!
...like Glastonbury 2007! There are others I would like to go to as well, if… ... well if it wasn’t for my friends who are simply not interested in things like this! How can they? I can’t go alone, can I?
