My birthday present from my friends this year was a full bod massage… What a great present… I left a new woman, relax, yet completely energised! Really worth it :)

But out of all the luxuries of life, this is the one I would spring for if I felt I deserved it. ( after a hard day of work, helping my family and community, etc)
It was glorious. Highly recommended stress relief! I felt like I was floating around on a cloud for the rest of the afternoon.
I have been working as a Massage Therapist for the past two years. I get a massage every week. I loved getting and giving massage in highschool, and when I graduated, I decided to make a career of it. No Regrets!!!
Unless you can get a specific recommendation from someone you trust, my advise is to go to one of the better known mainstream companies, like Burke Williams or Glen Ivy in California. All major cities should have a few good options, however, and even smaller cities as well. Many vacation resorts and cruises also have spa/massage facilities. A Swedish massage is a good treatment to start with, but you can venture out to other treatments later. You can usually request either a male of female masseuse, and there is no judgment made on specifying either.
Check into your health plan… sometimes masages are covered, believe it or not. Universities also sometimes have partial coverage through their plans if you’re a student. This is how I used to get full body massages. I was covered under my father’s plan when I was a student.
I am so booking in for a massage as a special treat once ALL my assessment is finished. It will be reward to myself for getting through this semester alive and being strong enough to leave my now ex.

Have a professional massage you. I have had an ex-Olympic Therapist massage me. A few questions about LIFESTYLE before the actual massage session was asked..
I had “Shiatsu” massage. It was wonderful and blissful.
The first time I had any kind of massage was in college, and I remember feeling VERY embarrassed that I had to get pretty much naked in front of the professional who was to do the massage. And then I felt stupid for feeling embarrassed, did it anyway, and had an okay massage.
But really the greatest massages came later, and now I think it’s a luxurious and extremely healthy way to treat yourself.
Also, I used to have migraines, and went for massages once a week with a nurse/massage therapist, and the headaches went away. Wonderful medicine!
I’ve only had an Indian head massage but am ready for the full treatment!
