clean and organize my house

about 2 months ago I got the bedroom clset cleaned out. I had piles upon piles of clothes on the closet floor. I didn’t have a washer/dryer. The thought of piling all that stuff in the car to go to the laundrymat was a horror. So, I only wahsed the necessities. Well, when I finally buckled down and cleaned out all that mess, I found that mice had been living in the piles all winter. DISGUSTING!!! There were clothes, towels, and sheets that I had to throw out. I will never let my closet get that way again.

where to begin. There is so much STUFF. I only have a small closet and a bedside table (2 small drawers) in which to keep my clothes. That’s not much room. My son and I share the closet, and he also has 2 small drawers in which to keep his clothes. So, we often find clean clothes in the floded piles, or folded in the laundry basket. And, the TOYS! Goodness! All the little pieces, the cards, etc., etc., etc.! The magazines, the mail, the shoes, the dishes, the starage boxes, AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

is the place where so much of my work needs to start. It’s hard for me to stay on track with this when there are so many other distractions. But I need to keep in mind it’s something to do for my family – and then, just (try to) do it.

Livingroom: CLEAN / ORGANIZED

Bathroom: CLEAN / ORGANIZED

Hallway: CLEAN / ORGANIZED

I’ve pretty much cleaned up and organised my room, the rest of the house is ahead. My room is ridiculously dirty, I find all sorts of bugs/insects there all the time, there’s enough dust bunnies to form an army, and there are newspapers in my closet from many years ago. The hardest part is not to organise but to STAY organised, I understand the first but will probably never succeed with the latter. :/

It’s beginning to happen. Baby steps but steps in the right directions, nonethiless.

This is always a challenge for me. My goal today is to clean the kitchen.

I have officially cleaned out all the closets and all the clothes are on hangers and easily found.

yesterday we cleaned up in Brant’s room and threw out and donated LOTS!! It’s a baby step but it’s coming along.

Lately, I look around, and I wonder why I can’t be more organized. I have good intentions, I throw out what I can, I start organizing, but more stuff creeps in. How can I EVER be organized? I have bought books, watched shows on TV, and they make it seem easy….so why isn’t it…for me?
