WHOO I will be there in about 12 weeks. Amazing!
Saving for the trip isn’t going as well as I’d hoped though..
How I did it: i went there to learn English and i spent 4 months and lived with New zealander family and they were lovely i think never i will find like them , when i was there it was in winter with little cold weather so i did not travel only study Read how I did it…
How I did it: I married a man from New Zealand, and went to vist his family. We flew out of Redding to San Fransisco to New Zealand. We have been on Quantas and Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand is more comfortable, serves good wine and you can see any movie you want. Read how I did it…
Weehector just back from rome and needs to book a hotel for barcelona next month
How I did it: 3 weeks North & South island. Walked the Milford track, kayaked in the Abel Tasman, jumped out of planes, bungyed, drank fine wines and stayed on a vineyard. Read how I did it…
How I did it: My cousin went to study there so I decided to go and visit. It's not difficult, all you need is time. Don't try to go to New Zealand for anything less than a month. The longer the better. There is so much to see and do. Take two months off of work and spend about half of your time on the North Island and half of your time on the South Island. Just buy a plane ticket and book your first few nights online at a hostel or whatever, and for th… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Bought a car, drove to the top (Cape Reinga) turned around and drove to the bottom. I was coming to the end of my contract of teaching English in Korea, knew I wanted to travel afterward, and bought a ticket to NZ. It's as easy as that. Save money, buy the ticket, make it rain! .. removing these goals fom my list by marking them as ‘given up’. I haven’t given up – my partner is a Kiwi and I very much hope one day we’ll see his homeland together. But for the time being it’s being shuffled aside …
NZ was a beautiful place to visit and I a great time. Although the weather was cold, windy and almost always overcast or raining, it was very green and the springtime bought with it all the baby lambs, foals, and calfs!
The countryside was stunning, the cities were very clean & tidy, it was easy to get around by foot/boat/train/bus/car/etc, the people were friendly, and there’s definitely no shortage of things to see and do! If i ever get the chance i’d love to go back.
The highlight of my trip was my over water bungy jump woohoo!!
i spent about 2 weeks travelling the south island with my family when i was 13.
the whole place made me feel a powerful nostalgia, similar to the first time i listened to BoC’s campfire headphase.
i prefer the atmosphere and the attitude of new zealander’s to australians and have been longing to go back, alone, for 5- 6 years.
i’d love to see a bit of the north island, capture the scenery and spirit of the south island again with aid from a toy camera, backpack, do all extreme-sports possible, work on an organic farm :)
my (initial, rough) plan is to work btw now and december for the costs of return ticket and basics.
spend the summer there, working.
come back to sydney in march for concerts, friends and birthday. return to nz for the remainder of my expedition.
I’m going to a friend’s wedding in New Zealand in March 2010, so I’m saving up for a big trip over there. It’s going to cost a lot of money, but it’ll be worth it. We’re going to the South Island as the wedding will either be in the Christchurch area or the Marlborough Sounds. I’ve already got my Lonely Planet South Guide (which controversially also contains Wellington) and have been having fun picking out where we’re going to go. Definitely want to do a wine-tasting vineyard tour and possibly even stay in a vineyard overnight. Also, we want to see the Fox or Franz Josef glaciers. We’ll also head to Queenstown and try out some crazy adventurous activities.
Only 19 months to go!

My dad (who has never been out of Australia and never had the interest to) randomly asked a few months ago if I wanted to go to New Zealand with him, his shout. YES!! My mum isn’t so keen so it will be just us, so will be nice to have some time to spend together. Starting to get excited, really looking forward to seeing New Zealand.
