Last night, Tiki Barber was talking about how the NFC East is the toughest conference in the NFL right now. Dallas is hot, Giants are rolling, and even the Redskins are figuring out a way to win. He did mention that the only team that is struggling is my birds.
On the bright side, the Eagles are about to go on a “Rest of the Season Winning Streak”. You heard it here first.

I’m not really that into sports. It’s not so much a conscious decision as a place I found myself in at a point when it was sort of too late to decide otherwise. Nobody around me really follows sports, and for the same reason that I’m sure many people do become fans of a particular team (social pressure), I didn’t. It’s not cool to like sports amongst my teams, and it’s not clear exactly how one is supposed to follow a particular team unless they know other people who are also following it.
I can see aspects of sports enjoyment that are right up my alley. The drama of it, the seasonal aspect, the blank slate, the character development, the suspense and the competition and the statistics and the gambling and the camaraderie and everything that comes from a community with a common goal.
So, since Kellianne and her family are all Philadelphia Eagles fans, I’m going to give it a go. At least, learn enough to participate in the excitement when I’m surrounded by it.
As you can probably tell, I am gonna need help. How does one consciously become a fan of a particular team that one knows nothing about?
