A cookbook was created about 20 years ago for a family reunion. I’d like to update and upgrade it, maybe sell extras for charity.

How to create a family cookbook"One of the best things I did this year was create an heirloom cookbook that is personal, unique, and very special."
How I did it: I've been taking photos of food that I make for a long time. I used my own photos, photos of family members, and stories with family recipes. This took me two weeks of continual full time work.
Lessons & tips:
Resources: The website Blurb was particularly helpful, although it also helps to personalize it by using your own layouts. If you are less artistic I recommend Tastebook, where you can also incorporate your own photos.

How I did it: I didn't do the picture thing, but I did make sure to put at the bottom of each recipe who submitted it and if there is a special story about how they got the recipe or something special about it. I print out the recipes (which is I type in different fonts and different colors so it's not boring with all black and white), place them in sheet protectors, and then place them in 3-ring binders. I get the binders with the "view" area in… Read how I did it…

Ive got a ton of family recipes and need a way to nicely organize them.
I love trying new recipes but I never use them again. I want to create a book of my family’s favorite foods. When my children are ready to move out on their own, they can always find a familar meals to cook.
i am wanting to create, and publish a family cookbook, composed of recipes passed on from my grandparents, great grandparents, etc.
I tell anyone who is willing to listen how much I love Matilda’s Fantastic Cookbook Software by www.CookbookPeople.com. This went from being a miserable project I was trying to manage in Word to a lot more fun. I’m at 185 recipes on my current cookbook. Next year I’ll probably add another 100 or so.
This is a project that my brother and I encouraged my mother to take on. She’s got great stories and is an amazing gourmet. But English not being her first anguage, she said she needed help, and so I offered to edit the text that she would write.
She’s held up her end of the bargain and wrote down 12 recipes, each with a short story to give us a little background. I need to work on my end and start editing. I worked on one today. Eleven more to go!
I’m hoping also to come up with some small illustrations to go with the book pages.
I talked to my cousin in California, and she gave me some internet sites that she has used, then she gave me a recipe for her fabulous spinach dip. I feel somewhat inspired.
I come from a line of amazing women who are fantastic (not gourmet) cooks. It would be such a shame to let any more recipes be lost. My mother makes the most amazing pies, and I’ve yet to make one of my own, I’m ashamed to admit. This would make a great gift for friends and family, not to mention being an important keepsake.
Fri. 12/15/06 - Today I got the main page of it set up on my website. My husband is laughing at me because I have chocolate listed as a food group unto itself!
My husband is a gourmet chef. He taught me how to cook, and now I’m nearly as bad as he is when it comes to trying new things in the kitchen. We have cookbooks overflowing the shelves, and never can remember which one contains what recipe!
One whole section of my website is going to be dedicated to cooking.
