hit my revenue target for 2008, long before the end of 2008

Ok, so this goal has morphed a bit in the last few months.

Originally, my strategy was to hit the fixed amount of revenue in FY2008 by March to establish my warchest for calendar 2008.

I’ve now exceeded my original revenue target for FY2008, but my warchest isn’t as big as I now want it to be. Nevertheless, according to the rules I established when I created my business, this goal is complete from a sales, revenue, and even on a cash basis.

It’s probably time, though, to create a new goal for FY2009!

I need to keep an eye on this accounting, in my race to change the world. I still need to pay the mortgage, after all.

So where am I? Well, the good news is that in cash receipts, the business is now positive. I’m $3k positive, to be exact. Oh, wait! Another check came yesterday, so make that $3,700.

I still have a long way to go to get to my revenue target on a cash basis. But when I consider my accounts receivable, I get a different story. As of now, I’m at 57% of my CY2008 revenue target.

That would be good. Or maybe February.
