INDIA – sari – formal tying

There are many ways to tie a saree, depending on what function and/or where you are from. The women in my husband’s family have taught me how to tie a saree, and I even made an instructional video for my mother. She has to watch it every time she gets into one, but we both love wearing them!

My Dept must’ve been the noisiest lot – we threw our mortar boards high up into the air, made such a din & had loadsa fun together..

Learnt that tying the sari’s not soo difficult.. it is challenging, one must note: i still need to practise the (uh-oh, symmetrical) folding of the sari (at shoulder & waistline), but the draping’s not a prob.. Actually felt more comfy than i’d expected it to be, once it was done nicely – yay!

As someone who’s more comfy with kurtis & jeans, then salwar kameez maybe – Learning to tie the sari (well) is gonna need loadsa practice.. For a V. Impt & Upcoming Event.
