my long-lost Babygirl is finally home, after a dozen years of aching to be together. we are very good parents, but have not put enough effort into this. we all need the snuggly feeling that family traditions and the memories they generate can give. we played monopoly in the camper one night, laughed til we hurt, had a pizza delivered to us out in the camper (it was parked in the driveway behind the house). we need more family game nights.

Christmas is my favorite holiday. I have an ornament from the third grade that I put on the tree every year, now my daughter has one too. I’m really proud of mine since I got it last year.
We also have particular candy we indulge in when we decorate the tree. I use to climb on the roof to make Santa noises. I got skeeeerd. For several years I had a reindeer machine on a long pole. Blocks of wood hung from wires made deer hoof noises, bells with the clapper tide on a long string, sleigh bells on a spring and two large blocks of wood for Santa’s clod hoppers. I added battery operated lights, garland and old cast away decorations too. Also, regular old deer poop with sparkles in it pass for authentic magic reindeer turds. Way too much fun for one person.
I’ll have to remember to make a reindeer machine for my kids when they have children.
the kids find much of our Paganism stuffy and boring. so i’m pleasantly surprised that they are looking forward to Ostara. they been creating butterflies to welcome Spring, and are looking forward to creating the eggs. i think they even want to help make the one we consume in Circle for the ritual. that’s cool- their presence will bring a playfulness that is sure to enhance the magick.
