make my man see in him the great potential i see so clearly

I am not marking this a failure, but a success. I did my very best for 13 years to make him see what I see. He is not in the right place yet. I don’t think it’s my job any longer to try. The last time I complimented him and told him that he could do anything he wanted he said and I quote “Sometimes, your head is up your ass.” Yes, he is a charmer. So I’m done. Check please. Maybe if he changes his attitude, I’ll be willing to try yet again. I am talking MAJOR attitude change.

At the moment, this goal is sucking the life force right out of me.

He is so wonderful and talented, and he doesn’t see it in himself. I try to encourage him, but he needs to believe it himself. I still keep trying. He’s turning 40 soon and that is taking a major toll on him. He is self-evaluating (which is a good thing) but all he sees is he’s not a doctor or a lawyer or whatever mommy and daddy wanted him to be. He is an amazing person. That is what I see. I hope he will see it too. In time.
