I kind of hate Scrabble lately—as passionately as I loved it, now I find myself sick of it and disinterested in the games I have going. I think a break is in order, but I know I’ll get into it again, so I’m leaving this goal here. But putting it down the list in priority for now. :)

via cell phone Scrabble. I downloaded the classic and have been playing classic mode versus the computer in medium difficulty. So far, I have won each game, but my scores have fluctuated from 240 to 277, up to 298 and down again to 241. I believe that I will attempt to score at least 300 five times in a row before I challenge the computer on difficult :) I also am trying to rope my fiance into playing against me, but he is currently addicted to TextTwist, which admittedly is my fault. Good luck to all you out there who are working on this goal as well!
Planning on memorizing all the allowable 3-letter words for SOWPODS. I’ll possibly make flash cards or something to help with this—this is something I’ve put off because it sounds so daunting, but I think it’s the single thing I can do to help my Scrabble game improve, except practicing anagramming more!
Tonight I did SQUIRTED on two triple-word squares for 220 points. That’s my best bingo yet. So I think that’s progress!

I’ve downloaded Scrabble to play on my cell phone while my son is enraptured in slumber, cuddled into me. I plan on recording my initial starting score and log weekly what my improvement is.

This goal really fell apart when I switched to a Mac (I had a computer Scrabble on my PC) then my Palm Pilot died (I had Scrabble on that too).
But it’s a new era: I have an iPod Touch with Scrabble and I’m hoping to get back to the programme. First step: re-reading ‘Everything Scrabble’.
I want to be able to use ordinary words, not goofy ones like “OE”, and I want to be able to use the word “Zen”!!

I finally broke down and bought the new travel Scrabble. It’s improved over the first version and I’ve wanted to get it for awhile. I’ve been dragging my big Scrabble game with me places and it’s getting a bit smooshed. The travel game is so cute! I’ve been taking it to work and I’m actively recruiting Scrabble buddies…
I think it’s a great way to bolster the old grey matter. Plus my sweetie keeps beating me, so I’d like to become a better strategic player and win more.

MsIrisM asks,
“Why can't I use the word "Zen"? Of all the obscure words in the Scrabble dictionary, I should think that this word would have common usage, and worth a lot of points on the triple word square!”
