Michael has to revise some goals
My wife and I made huge progress in back yard today and yesterday. We have about 30 bags of weed remnants and other cleanup. Yard is looking much better but still a long way to go.
How I did it: Hired a great landscaper and they got the MASSIVE weeds knocked out in two days.
We selected a landscaper based on personal recommendation. They used a combination of gas powered weed wackers and hand tools. They're going to spray certain areas to try and keep it under control. They're going to til the soil by hand and with a gas tiller to help keep the big weeds from coming back. Then they're going to mulch the areas to help keep the weeds from sprouting back. New weeds blown in will be easier to pull.
Lessons & tips: Whatever you do, use pre-emergent and do whatever you can to get on top of the weeds before they take over, capture you, and take you back to their weed lair and sacrifice you before their weed gods.

Weeds that were sprayed are starting to die… got weed stop mulch for the front yard, pulled a bunch of weeds. That front is going ok but a major offensive is needed in the back yard.

Sprayed Ortho “Ground Clear” yesterday on the areas I don’t want any plants. The stuff I sprayed last time died horrible deaths, so looking forward to quickly getting a handle on the massive weed growth.
Will deal with dandelions next. Then mulch and ground cover plants.

No, I mean thick forests of 6’ tall weeds! Pulling a few here and there is ok, but being overwhelmed isn’t cool. Hoping to spray weeds soon, put down some mulch, and plant some ground cover (ice plant, steppables, etc.) to hopefully get a handle on the weeds in the back yard, finally.
I tidied my front garden last friday afternoon when I was on a conf call…
It is one of the wonderful things about working from home…
