putting my technology skills to a private use

My brother is dealing with a complicated illness. I’ve come across the country to help for a while. I am frustrated by the volume of details related to his surgeries, disease, treatments, medical histories, and prescriptions. The reason I am frustrated is that he is often cognitively impaired to some degree, and there seems to be no one person who knows which doctor ordered what and why.
In his clearer times, I am imagining he could journal things and tag them. If just the family had access, we could add our observations.
I think I can figure out how to do this by creating a subdomain for him at the server where I have webhosting, then installing a blog.
