I had an accordion when I was 20 yrs old.
my X sold it to a pawn shop…well here
I am 30 years later wanting very much to
learn this wonderful instrument…I started
with a little 12 bass …and then found
myself a teacher (no easy task) I have now
been taking lessons for 4 months…and
learning notes at the same time…sometimes
I feel so encouraged…when I am succesful
at learning a song or memorizing a song to
play without notes…then other times…I
wonder if I will ever become proficiant at
this instrument…I know it is just ONE
step at a time..
well anyway…I so want to play gospel
music on the accx (my abbreviation for
accordion) my first goal is to learn
Amazing Grace…my dear departed daddy’s fav song….

a friend is lending me her accordion for however long i want on saturday! i am very very giddy. where do i begin???
my sister came home with this old smelly black case, and told me to open it. “what’s in it?” I ask “just OPEN IT!” she pleads “what is it?” I ask “LAURA, JUST OPEN IT AND SEE” she cries. I unlock it quickly and a flurry of books fall into my lap. They are accordian instruction booklets. Inside the worn leather case is a small, soft purple/ pinkish accordian!!
We learn a few songs together and decide not to tell our parents about it until we can play a rousing tune. What a good flea market find!!
JUST WHAT WE WERE WAITING FOR!!
